Kolluri Avatara Sarma of Kakinada, is a scholar in sanskrit, and an intense worshipper of Mother 'BALA TRIPURA SUNDARI' from an early age. When Mohana Krishna, his, neighbour, enquired if he would accompany him to Jillellamudi for Sivarathri, Sri Sarma hesitated. Should he go to a far off place where people call some one other than his 'BALA TRIPURA SUNDARI' as mother and worship and adore Her...? Could he be in the midst of all that and not feel embarrassed...? He postponed his decision till the next day and placed his predicament before his 'Ishta Daivam'. To his surprise, he was asked to go to Jillellamudi. During early hours of the day of the journey he had beautiful visions of 'AMMA'
The journey was delightful. The reception at Jillellamudi was cordial. At midnight, as he entered the sanctum sanctorum along with four others, he saw a flash of light which he took as an auspicious omen. During the 'Abhishekam', he was amazed to see the image breathing...! Could it be true.. ? Or was it a hallucination, he wondered. But he clearly saw the heaving of the chest of the statue and the movement of the sari continuously for 30 minutes. Later he learnt that Mohana Krishna also had an identical impression.
Avatara Sarma is convinced that it is not a block of black granite that is receiving worship from the pilgrims, but a great divine force pulsating with life, that is blessing Her children from within the shrine of 'Anasuyeswaralayam'.
